Research integrity e-learning programme

Staff and students at Newcastle University can access free online training in research integrity developed by Epigeum.  The online programme is split into a number of core and supplementary modules which can be accessed at any point:

Core modules

  • Good Research Conduct
  • Irresponsible research practices
  • Planning your research
  • Managing and recording your research
  • Data selection, analysis and presentation
  • Scholarly publication
  • Professional responsibilities
  • Communication, social responsibility and impact

Supplementary modules

  • Export Controls

Accessing the e-learning programme

A step-by-step guide is provided below:

  1. In order to access the e-learning materials, staff and students must complete a short online registration form.  Please note that you must register using your University email address.
  2. In the ‘token’ field of the registration form please enter: 46b8b2e1.
  3. Following registration, you will be sent an account activation email.  Please click on the link in the activation email to complete registration. If you do not receive an activation email, please check your junk folder. You can also request a new activation email via this link
  4. Once you have activated your account, you will be able to log in via the Epigeum portal using your personal username and password.  The Epigeum Research Integrity programme is listed under My Courses.
  5. Click on the programme to see a list of the available modules, and on a specific module to launch it.  Although participation is voluntary, you will be able to download a certificate once a module has been successfully completed.
